The International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI) conference is held in Macau this year.  Each year, at this conference, experts in AI and applications of AI will be presenting the newest results in posters, lectures and workshops.

SigOpt is excited to be presenting at the conference this year.  Javier Garcia-Barcos (former intern and current research affiliate along with his PhD advisor Ruben Martinez-Cantin) will be attending the conference and presenting their article Fully Distributed Bayesian Optimization with Stochastic Policies (paper 2998).  Anyone in Macau on Friday August 16 should consider stopping by the session ML|AL – Active Learning 2 (2701-2702) at 9:30 to check out some exciting new content!

Additionally, another former intern, Katharina Eggensperger will also be attending IJCAI, where she will be presenting her research at the Data Science Meets Optimization workshop.  She will be presenting exciting work on understanding how decisions made in Bayesian optimization affect the process of the optimization.
